Family Workshop at Miniespai
By Jordi Daví – Serra ·· Martí
In collaboration with the Biblioteca Pilarín Bayés
Saturday, November 15th, 2025
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At ACVIC Centre d’Arts Contemporànies
Graphic design is a way of thinking with your hands. In this workshop, participants will use this visual language, organised in shapes, colours, and spaces; and will experiment with changing the meaning of shapes depending on where they are, on colour giving them weight or lightness, or on using white space as a meaningful element.
After looking at few simple examples and talking about them, participants will work directly with paper, cutting, layering, and combining scraps, building their own compositions. The end product will be an open collage, made out of visual intuition, visual balance, and visual decision-making; an exercise in understanding how to construct an image, and in discovering that design can simply be a way of organising what we feel.
ACVIC’s Miniespai is an open space with a varied selection of games, picture-books and illustrated storybooks to inspire users to create, to experiment, and to play with contemporary art.
