ART AND SCHOOL

ART I ESCOLA is a program that aims to promote and value the presence of art in schools.

It is promoted by ACVIC Centre d’Arts Contemporànies and the Pedagogical Resources Centre of Osona with the collaboration of a whole team of professionals from the artistic field. It is developed jointly with the nursery, primary and secondary schools that, each year, adhere to it. The people who are part of the work team are responsible for defining the global lines of the program, as well as advising on the contents and methodology in the schools that adhere to it. At the beginning of each course, a call is made to participate.

It is therefore an initiative that establishes a network of collaborations between different institutions that work from the field of art and education, together with educational centers. It starts from the premise that education is part of cultural production and that art, understood from its multiplicity of contemporary forms, can provide several useful tools to revitalize educational actions.

ART I ESCOLA aims to promote collaborative processes, to know what is being done in schools in relation to the arts, to share it, to contaminate the approaches and methodologies among those involved, and to bring to the school elements that are part of the current cultural debates. In this case the arts are not crafts, they are an articulating instrument.

Short audio-visual capsules

This extraordinary time is an almost compulsory invitation to thought and reflection. It is a parenthesis in everyday life, a mechanism which these days lets us look at things from a new perspective, almost certainly from a distance, questioning its importance. What is working? What is not working? What would we like to change? What role does each of us play in the current educational system, whether official, non-formal or unofficial?
What does art bring to school? What does the Art i Escola project let us do?

FICTION

For the school year 2017 – 18, Art i Escola's working proposal is centred upon the topic of Taboos. This topic is open to many different spheres and aspects of approach within schools, opening up possibilities of working upon themes which are perhaps unusual within the school context.
