I am the strange body that looks is an audiovisual project which reflects upon the imprint of industrial work on artistic activity, based on the connection between Roberto Rossellini's Europa 51 and Simone Weil's Factory Diary.

The set of records, interviews, and documents included in Diari de fàbrica are conceived as a living audiovisual repository which comes to life in a live editing performance session, in which audiovisual fragments, audio clips, and Marta Azparren's voice and actions lend shape to a changing and unique spoken cinema in each session.

To order to create these performances, Marta carries out prior research in each town and context in which the performances will be presented. In this case, in Vic, she has interviewed women who formerly worked in the fur trade, and also women who currently work in meat factories. Thus, the performance is directly linked to the social fabric and working-class memory of each place, and shares the spotlight with women who have too often been unjustly forgotten.

I am the strange body that looks, is part of the ACVIC programme Sobretaules a la plaça, which aims to open the art centre to the neighbourhood and the community, forging relationships between its organisations.

I am the strange body that looks is an audiovisual project. It talks about how industrial work affects art. It connects the film Europa 51 by Roberto Rossellini and the book Factory Diary by Simone Weil.

The project has many records, interviews, and documents. These are part of a live show. In the show, Marta Azparren mixes videos, sounds, and her voice. Each show is different and unique.

Before the show, Marta does research in each town. In Vic, she talked with women who worked in the fur trade and women who work in meat factories now. The show talks about the history and life of working women in each place. It remembers women who are often forgotten.

I am the strange body that looks is part of the ACVIC programme Sobretaules a la plaça. This programme wants to bring the art centre closer to the neighbourhood and the community. It helps create links between local groups.
