Family art workshop part of the ART+SCHOOL+CONTACT exhibition, curated by Xè Canal and Núria Valls with  Biblioteca Pilarin Bayés

The gazes, the gestures, and the distances which we experience among ourselves create forms of contact which are often invisible, but which are always full of meaning. In our everyday lives, we share spaces, times, and emotions which, were we to observe them carefully, may become small experiences of connection. Through the body, through being present, and by listening, we can discover new ways of relating to others.

In this art workshop, we will explore these subtle connections drawing inspiration from performance art practices, such as those of Marina Abramović, in order to envision new forms of relationship. Time will slow down, giving way to experiencing, listening, and encountering.

The family art workshops are a space shared between children and adults in which, using picture-books, participants engage in hands-on creative experiences with contemporary art and performance art.

This is a family art workshop. It is part of the ART+SCHOOL+CONTACT exhibition. The exhibition is curated by Nàbia Adillon and Montsita Rierola with Biblioteca Pilarin Bayés.

We all see, move, and keep distance in different ways. These ways create contact between us. This contact is often invisible. But it always has meaning. Every day, we share places, time, and feelings. If we look carefully, we can see small moments of connection.

In this workshop, we will explore these small connections. We will use ideas from performance art. For example, the work of Marina Abramović. We will think about new ways to relate to others. Time will feel slower. We will focus on feeling, listening, and meeting others.

The family art workshops are for children and adults together. We use picture-books and creative activities. We work with contemporary art and performance art.

Who is it for?
Families with children aged 3 to 5 years old.
